Rifle is unmarked except for proof marks and 52 on one side of barrel and proofs and serial number to other side. Wood is a lovely piece of walnut with only a few minor marks . This rifle came from Europe where it sat in a shop till 1981 and we believed it is in unfired condition. Serial Number B757. In almost as new Condition

Barrel 33 1/2", bore dirty, metal work with speckling, fitted with bronze trigger guard, butt and nose cap, missing cleaning rod. Wood work a full stock with numerous borer holes, "Birmingham" and "Calisher & Terry" marked in stock. Breech block is marked "BSA Co" and "Sniders Patent", breech marked "II K 932". Butt plate marked "S K NZ AC 932". Rifle fitted with snap cap and chain and comes with leather sling with brass fittings. This rifle is one of less than 500 rifles converted from original Hay Patent muzzle loading rifle. These converted rifle where issued to troops in the Napier and Taupo areas. This is a rare piece of New Zealand military history. Apart from borer good condition. Serial number 932 |
