551: Military Rifle - No5 Mk1 303 cal Jungle Carbine by ROF dated 12-45. Barrel 19 1/2 inch including flash suppressor with bayonet lug, bore good. Matching bolt, metal finished with a black enamel finish, wood a darkened stained colour with marks associated with use. Overall good condition. Serial # T8546

560: German Knight's Cross with Ribbon. Knights Cross of the Iron Cross complete with neck band. The Knight's Cross is larger in size than the Iron Cross 1st Class and is worn around the neck with a black-white-red band. Awarded to the holders of the Iron Cross to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. This cross is of three piece sandwich construction with an aged patina. Markings at the top on the reverse side 800 65 (maker: Klein & Quenzer A.G.) It is complete with hanger or suspension loop marked with 800. Comes with neck ribbon. Estimate $15,000 Pic

568: Medals - Set of WWI medals and memorablia of Harry Barlow formally of the Canterbury Battalion. Medals comprise Distinguished Conduct Medal (D.C.M.), 1914/15 Star, British War and Victory Medals with ribbons. D.C.M. named 6/194 PTE H.BARLOW. CANTERBURY BN. N.Z.F. Other medals named 6/194 SJT. H.BARLOW. N.Z.E.F. Medals in Good condition. RSA lapel badge numbered on front 6/194. Large gilt framed certificate (approx 25 x19 inches overall) noting the Resolution by the Radcliffe District Council (Manchester), complete with embossed gold seal of the council, congratulating SGT Barlow on his D.C.M. This certificate is a very fine example of calligraphy in very good condition with strong vibrant colours. Citation for BARLOW, Harry 6/194 Private Canterbury Battalion, NZ Forces. London Gazette 3 Sep 1915. Citation reads " For great gallantry and ability on the night of the 21st-22nd June, 1915, at Quinn's Post (DARDANELLES). On his own initiative he crawled from the trench to reconnoitre an enemy bomb-proof shelter some distance away. He was successful in dropping two bombs into it, and returned with two Turkish bombs he found outside. Throughout the operations he has distinguished himself as a most courageous and skilful bombthrower". Biographic Note: 6/194 Sgt H.Barlow, DCM. Born at Manchester, England 24 Dec 1886. Miner. Attested 17 Aug 1914; embarked 16 Oct 1914; returned 4 Feb 1916; discharged 16 Mar 1916. Served with Cant Bn in Egypt and Gallipoli. Died at Christchurch 8 Jul 1954. ( Page 27 "The Complete N.Z. Distinguished Conduct Medal"Collated by Alan Polaschek). This is a rare and superb offering of historical significance for New Zealand’s involvement in the Gallipoli campaign. Pic

592: Medal French WW1 Veterans medal, 22x35mm. L’Union des Combattants is a diamond shaped bronze medal with an Adrienne helmet in a laurel wreath with the letters UNC Union Nationale des Combatants. The reverse has the maker's mark Chobillon of Paris. The ribbon is the tricolour red, white & blue vertical stripes with the addition of thin green stripes. Comes with a WW1 50c banknote marked TRESORERIE AVX ARMEES and shows a soldier waving to a woman and children. GC
