Hammer recessed to take floating firing pin. Frame, barrel, trigger guard and butt cap scroll engraved. Some original blue with small scratches and brown areas. LH side of frame with W.Tranters Patent oval stamp and No. 13020. Plain cylinder with raised stops and roped front band. Birmingham proofs on cylinder and barrel including 450. Barrel marked "P. Gates 4 Market St Head Derby". Ejector pivot marked Tranters Patent. "No. 499" scratched on butt strap. Cylinder has been fitted with removable inserts to enable it to be fired with .380 blanks.
