| 545 : | Rifle: .500/ 3" Nitro Double Barrel, under lever, breech loading rifle by John Rigby & Co, Dublin and London. 26"
barrels with one fixed and one flip-up rear sight, graduated to 250 yards. Both bores are excellent and bright. Barrels showing about 90% blue finish with some slight thinning areas at
muzzle. Both hammers have safeties. Locks marked "John Rigby & Co" and are border lined engraved. Locks and action a smooth mottled grey finish. Steel checkered butt plate. Nicely
figured walnut stock with fine checkering at wrist. Top rib marked "John Rigby & Co, Dublin and London". Comes in a leather bound case with oak timber around the top of the bottom
section. Lid with trade label "John Rigby & Co - By Appointment to His Majesty the King". Case includes 3 ebony handled screw drivers and one nipple wrench, two piece cleaning rod,
silver plated oil bottle, 10 loaded rounds and 8 fired cases. Case lid marked "R M Cotton Lake Coleridge". Mr Cotton was an early Canterbury station owner in the Lake Coleridge region of

| 546 : | Sporting Rifle. .500cal Custom Bolt Action Sporting Rifle chambered for the .500 Jeffrey Cartridge and built on a BRNO CZ 550 Safari Magnum action. Bore is as new. Metal has all finish remaining. Action strong and magazine has three round capacity. Barrel in marked .500 Jefffrey Nitro Express and A.J. Carr Wellington NZ. And was made and rimmed by LOTHAR WALTHER Precision Tool Manufacture GmbH. Wood is fine example of Walnut with excellent grain, checkered at forewood and grip in very good condition with only minor handling marks. Fitted with a rubber recoil pad. The rifle featured in NZ Guns and Hunting magazine Noc-Dec 2003. A lovely big bore sporting rifle in exceptional "as new" condition. S/N 7238. Also comes with a gun bag. Pic |
